About the Role

Join WashU's Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Lipid Research as a medical technologist performing routine and complex assays on blood and body fluids using automated instruments and manual methods. This CLIA-certified core lab serves diverse clients and performs contract work.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and complex assays according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Includes routine maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments and equipment.
  • Reviews assay data and solves routine problems without supervisory assistance.
  • Participates in complex problem resolution.
  • Serves as a resource to medical technologists and laboratory assistants.
  • Trains new employees.
  • Assists with the development and validation of new assays.
  • Assists with updates and the development of procedure manuals.
  • Utilizes database, spreadsheet and word processing programs.
  • Complies with all regulatory and client requirements for testing and documentation.
  • Demonstrates a general understanding of assay methods and clinical relevance.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education.
  • Assists supervisor with other duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or combination of education and experience may substitute for minimum education.

  • $28.01 - $43.44 / Hourly
