About the Role

The CDL Truck Driver will work closely with the Trucking Manager to schedule the transportation of equipment and materials to various job locations. The ideal candidate is familiar with heavy highway paving operations, prioritizes safety, and is a dependable and reliable experienced CDL truck driver with a valid class B or A license.

Responsibilities

  • Transport equipment and/or materials to various job locations.
  • Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance, record keeping, and inspections on vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, and fluid checks.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Complete trip tickets and paperwork.
  • Utilize phone and apps to track start and end times and travel.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness to company standards.

Requirements

  • Must meet DOT employment requirements.
  • All potential candidates must submit to and have a clear record through the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
  • Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Must be positive, friendly, and professional.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the company's safety policy and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
  • Collaborate with project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
  • Comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required at all times.

Skills

  • Familiarity with Texas area and roadways
  • Understands the complexities of the trucking and asphalt industries
  • Knowledge of how the vehicles operate
  • Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, a plus
