About the Role

Join our dedicated team of 2nd shift, 3rd shift or relief Childcare Workers, where your compassion and support make a real difference to the lives of children from challenging backgrounds. Responsibilities

Provide for the safety and well-being of youth struggling with behavioral and mental health challenges, through the judicious use of discipline, therapeutic crisis intervention, CARE principles, and supervision.
Effectively communicate all behavioral, emotional, and medical needs to staff.
Respond to challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism.
Develop and maintain therapeutic-positive relationships with the children and their families.
Promote the growth of the guardian-child relationship.
Ensure the safety and well-being of children in care and supervise their whereabouts, paying attention to their needs and unique life situations.
Communicate regularly with the unit supervisor, social worker, and medical staff on each child's progress, behavioral, emotional, and medical needs.
Facilitate the growth and development of each child through instruction, counseling, and direction in matters of personal conduct, hygiene, appearance, social skills, school, daily routines, and work habits.
Maintain the security of the unit and unit office areas.
Provide safe and responsible transportation for youth, families, and other Children's Home affiliates as required.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required
Experience working in human services, mental or behavioral health, or with youth preferred
21 years of age or older required
Driver's License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment preferred
