About the Role
Alliance is seeking a Data Scientist to join their in-house engineering team. This role involves owning features from definition to production, reporting directly to the CTO, and contributing to a leading accelerator for crypto & AI founders.
Responsibilities
- Own data science and analytics end-to-end, turning ambiguous questions into analysis, models, internal tools, and production systems.
- Build production Python systems for data collection, enrichment, scoring, and AI-assisted research.
- Develop and improve predictive models, including feature definition, experiment running, and production releases.
- Write SQL and own reporting, including dashboards, recurring reports, and investigations.
- Transform messy data into actionable decisions for investing, portfolio support, operations, and growth.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, explain findings, and iterate based on usage.
Requirements
- Senior, self-directed data scientist or analytics engineer capable of managing projects from inception to production.
- Deep experience with Python and SQL.
- Comfortable working with notebooks, application code, APIs, and Metabase.
- Strong applied modeling judgment, including feature design, evaluation, and handling missing data.
- Sufficient data engineering skills to deploy and maintain own work, including pipelines and API integrations.
- Clear communication skills with non-technical stakeholders.
- High agency, entrepreneurial, and self-driven.
- Comfortable using modern AI tools and LLMs for analysis and automation.
- Must be NYC-based or willing to relocate.
