About the Role

This role involves performing medication order preparation, compounding non-hazardous medications, handling outpatient pharmacy phone triage, processing insurance claims, and managing medication inventory. The position interacts with pharmacy automated dispensing machines and hospital computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses.
  • Prepares non-sterile, non-hazard dose for first fill or cartfill, including oral syringes from liquid dosage forms.
  • Delivers patient specific doses.
  • Prepares and performs ADC replenishment.
  • Compounds non-sterile, non-hazardous medications.
  • Performs outpatient pharmacy phone triage.
  • Performs insurance adjudication.
  • Performs medication storage inspections.
  • Interacts with pharmacy automated dispensing machines and hospital computer systems as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active registration with the OH Board of Pharmacy
  • Must be PTCB certified and OH Board of Pharmacy certified within 18 months of hire.
  • ASHP accredited program graduate OR licensed as a Pharmacy Intern OR 6 months of pharmacy related experience
