About the Role

Active Dynamics is seeking an experienced Development Engineer to join their Toronto team. The role involves developing product and technology solutions using CAE simulation tools, contributing to both internal initiatives and customer-directed projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative products or technologies aligned with company strategic goals.
• Develop technical solutions focused on acoustics, thermals, fluids/power, and durability.
• Participate in product roadmaps and the evolution of existing product platforms.
• Understand target market, value proposition, and business strategy for sustainable product development.
• Support business processes from conception through production launch.
• Develop solutions for performance and durability requirements, ensuring final designs meet established criteria.
• Utilize advanced engineering methods, primarily CAE, for NPI support.
• Participate in the NPI and innovation process.
• Design and model products or systems using Creo Parametric.
• Analyze using ANSYS, engineering principles, and technical specifications.
• Utilize nCode and Reliasoft for fatigue life estimates.
• Optimize exhaust and engine performance with GT Power.
• Consider acoustics, emissions, vibrations, heat transfer, fluids, materials, fatigue, manufacturability, and cost.
• Lead technical meetings and coordinate with Sales, Quality, Production, and Engineering.
• Review and approve designs, complete NPI activities (DVPR, DFMEA, DFM/)
• Support testing activities, including internal lab or on-site data acquisition.
• Communicate and coordinate with departments, vendors, and customers to define objectives and create solutions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Some travel to the US is required.
