About the Role

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a physician with training in Pulmonary Medicine for an academic clinician faculty position. This role focuses on the clinical care of patients with cancer who develop pulmonary complications related to malignancy, cancer therapy, immune-based treatments, transplantation, infection, and chronic lung disease. The successful candidate will help grow MSK’s multidisciplinary immune-related adverse event (IRAE) program, with a focus on pulmonary toxicities from immune checkpoint inhibitors and other novel cancer therapies. The position includes opportunities to build collaborative programs across the Department of Medicine and expand clinical research and trials focused on pulmonary toxicities, IRAEs, and multidisciplinary models of care.

Responsibilities

Provide specialized expertise in Onco-Pulmonary and General Pulmonary Medicine.
Manage longitudinal, multidisciplinary oncologic care.
Manage immunocompromised hosts.
Evaluate and treat drug-induced and radiation-induced pneumonitis.
Manage pulmonary complications of cellular therapy and stem cell transplantation.
Perform peri-operative pulmonary risk assessment.
Treat chronic lung diseases including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis, pulmonary nodules, and chronic cough.
Help grow MSK’s multidisciplinary immune-related adverse event (IRAE) program, with a particular focus on pulmonary toxicities from immune checkpoint inhibitors and other novel cancer therapies.
Build collaborative programs across the Department of Medicine.
Expand clinical research and clinical trials focused on pulmonary toxicities, IRAEs, and multidisciplinary models of care for patients receiving advanced oncologic therapies.

Requirements

Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine.
Strong interest in the multidisciplinary management of patients with cancer, including immunocompromised patients and those with pulmonary complications of oncologic therapies.
Excellence in clinical care.
Commitment to academic medicine.
Ability to work in a cohesive, dynamic team environment.
Experience or interest in clinical research, clinical trials, program development, and collaborative investigation in pulmonary toxicities and IRAEs is highly desirable.
