About the Role
As a Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant, you will provide an exceptional patient experience by offering venipuncture and clinical support services. You will act as a patient ambassador, removing barriers to care and ensuring a positive in-office experience. You will be the first point of contact for patients and provide administrative support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Use C-I-CARE framework in all patient interactions, managing patient intake, schedules, billing, insurance, and feedback.
- Provide venipuncture services for pediatric to geriatric patients.
- Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, and vitals.
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen handling, inventory, and sterilization.
- Answer patient messages, follow up on lab cases, and assist providers with clerical duties.
- Perform all front of house duties including check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and paperwork.
- Contribute to team development through rounding, huddles, and problem-solving.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including office upkeep and supply restocking.
- Master technology suite including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and EMR systems.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship.
- Strong customer service skills, including ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer technology, internet navigation, and multiple software systems.
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process.
- Proven track record of persisting through change and learning quickly.
