About the Role
This role supports project labor compliance by ensuring employee time reporting, job classifications, and cost coding are accurate and align with prevailing wage and union requirements. The position facilitates timely certified payroll reporting, maintains subcontractor compliance, and supports audit readiness while adhering to project and regulatory deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Collect, validate, and organize weekly employee time entries, ensuring accurate job coding, labor classifications, and cost allocations.
- Coordinate with payroll specialist, field, and project teams to resolve timekeeping data issues.
- Review certified payroll reports for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Assist with certified payroll submissions through client compliance platforms (LCP tracker, Elation).
- Track certified payroll reporting deadlines and monitor submission status across multiple projects.
- Support prevailing wage, union, and labor compliance requirements by maintaining accurate employee records.
- Monitor subcontractor certified payroll submissions and follow up on missing reports, compliance deficiencies, and outstanding documentation.
- Maintain organized payroll submissions and ensure timely receipt of required documentation.
- Prepare compliance tracking reports and provide updates to project management and payroll teams.
- Utilize payroll, compliance, and project management systems for reporting, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 0-3 years of experience in payroll, accounting, construction operations, or a related field.
- Exposure to construction, prevailing wages, or certified payroll process preferred.
- Construction certified (Davis-Bacon Act) payroll experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in managing records and data.
- Effective communication skills and collaboration with multiple teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and follow established processes.
