About the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will own the analytics and reporting for a line of business, starting with Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) products. You will produce partner reports and invoices, rebuild reporting on a modern data stack, and transition from reporting past events to analyzing future outcomes and recommending actions. This is a senior individual-contributor role where you will work hands-on with SQL and dbt against our cloud data warehouse, building internal data products like dashboards and automated reporting. You will partner directly with business and operations leaders to understand priorities and deliver analysis that influences decisions. Accuracy, timeliness, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are expected. Handling protected health information (PHI) and utilizing AI tooling are core expectations of the role.

Responsibilities

Own recurring invoices and partner reporting for the Long-Term Care Insurance products and their partner book, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Rebuild reporting on dbt, migrating logic from manual SQL and BI tool calculations into tested, traceable, version-controlled models.
Build and maintain internal data products, including dashboards, BI tools, and self-serve reporting, retiring legacy reports as they are migrated.
Write and maintain clean, tested SQL against BigQuery, using a Git branch, PR, review, merge workflow.
Build and monitor scheduled data pipelines (e.g., Airflow DAGs) to ensure reporting runs without manual intervention, with exceptions alerted.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of data flow from source systems to outputs to identify and fix root causes of data discrepancies.
Reconcile old and new outputs during migrations, ensuring consistency within tolerance before decommissioning legacy reports.
Gain deep business knowledge, including partner contract and billing terms (PMPM, per-assessment, flat and admin fees), to understand data drivers.
Partner directly with business and operations leaders to understand priorities, validate reporting, and reconcile analytics with operational data.
Advance analytical maturity from descriptive reporting to predictive and prescriptive analysis, forming hypotheses about conversion, cost, and outcomes, and delivering analysis that influences decisions.
Utilize AI tooling (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate work and share reusable patterns, prompts, and commands.
Create and maintain runbooks to ensure reporting continuity during PTO.
Identify and correct incorrect or unclear logic, and proactively raise risks affecting live reports or invoices.
Perform other duties as assigned to support team and company success.

Requirements

Advanced SQL, including writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries against a cloud data warehouse.
Hands-on experience with dbt, including building models, tests, and documentation, or a strong ability to learn quickly.
Strong data visualization skills and experience building internal data products and BI dashboards.
Comfort with version control and a PR-based workflow (Git/GitHub).
Experience with a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery preferred) and familiarity with pipeline orchestration (e.g., Airflow) is a plus.
Ability to translate business and contract logic into correct, maintainable reporting.
Strong analytical instincts to form hypotheses, investigate root causes, and provide data-driven recommendations.
Excellent communication skills for working with non-technical leaders and explaining data.
Self-directed and rigorous with a high personal standard for accuracy, timeliness, and clean work.
Willingness to actively adopt AI-assisted analytics and development tooling.
Experience handling sensitive data responsibly; familiarity with HIPAA/PHI handling is strongly preferred.
Exposure to Salesforce data/CRM as a source system is a plus.
Interest in growing toward predictive/prescriptive analytics is a plus.
Must be 18 years of age or older.

Education Level

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics), or equivalent relevant work experience.
