About the Role
American Exchange Group is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant or Associate Designer for its Home team. This role will focus on designing for a new, premium licensed brand within the off-price business, contributing to categories like bedding, bath, and pet beds. The designer will report to the Sr Designer and collaborate with Production, Packaging, and Merchandising teams.
Responsibilities
- Create seasonal mood and trend boards in collaboration with the Sr Designer.
- Develop accurate artwork, repeats, and specs using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Prepare design files for sampling and production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product execution matches design intent.
- Support product revisions, costing updates, and presentation materials.
- Stay on top of timelines, trends, and technical innovations in textiles.
- Contribute ideas and assist wherever needed throughout the design process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
- 1+ years of design experience in home or fashion/apparel.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Detail-driven with a collaborative mindset and eagerness to grow.
