About the Role

A 58-year-old male in the Oneida area is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist him with advocating for him to speak up, participating in fun activities, and having assistance with applications related to benefits. He enjoys going to the local library, stores to shop for personal items, and planning out activities for future sessions. The ideal candidate is creative and engaging, active and patient, and willing to travel to different locations. This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.

Responsibilities

Assist with advocating for the client to speak up
Participate in fun activities with the client
Provide assistance with applications related to benefits
Assist with the client's schedule
Help the client navigate appointments and applications

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community
Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
New York State Driver's license required
Reliable transportation required
Proof of auto insurance required
Acceptable driving record required
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy
