About the Role
Wealthspire seeks a VP, Business Development focused on growing client engagement through excellent wealth management and financial planning services. This role involves advancing business, advising clients, and managing portfolios, requiring a professional adept at building trust and delivering careful investment and planning advice.
Responsibilities
- Lead and/or support other advisors in managing client engagements.
- Determine appropriate client allocations based on investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial situation.
- Perform investment and planning duties, including rebalancing portfolios, managing money movements, and tax loss harvesting.
- Service client accounts by tracking and monitoring asset transfers.
- Prepare and present performance reports.
- Process transaction requests and handle account paperwork.
- Initiate and handle client calls regarding account inquiries, portfolio performance, and planning items.
- Support the creation of client financial plans using financial planning software.
- Monitor client investments and suggest portfolio changes.
- Prepare for and attend client meetings, managing follow-up activities.
- Build proposals for prospective clients.
- Coordinate with clients' attorneys, accountants, and other professionals.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of financial planning concepts, including tax planning, insurance, and education funding.
- Pursue professional development opportunities, including additional licenses and designations.
- Actively participate in internal and external training sessions and networking events.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of wealth management experience.
- Ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Organized, meticulous, and able to effectively manage task lists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible, adaptable to change, and open to new ideas.
- Ability to think creatively.
- Reliable and follows through on commitments.
- Personal integrity and professional initiative.
- Prior experience overseeing teams is an advantage.
