About the Role

This role provides Underwriters with essential information to make sound decisions and supports the entire underwriting lifecycle, from initial marketing to policy issuance and renewal.

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial underwriting analysis and documentation, including summarizing insured operations and initial pricing analysis.
  • Handles endorsement referral requests, analyzes and resolves them, and makes independent recommendations.
  • Establishes support needs for new and renewal policies by identifying and gathering necessary account information.
  • Analyzes account-specific information, summarizing findings like loss data, financial information, and risk control reports for Underwriter review.
  • Acts as a liaison between field operations and processing centers for timely account setup, rating, issuance, and renewal preparation.
  • Coordinates account processing and servicing.
  • Leads pre-renewal meetings to establish renewal activity schedules.
  • Independently prepares and executes underwriting and pricing exhibits.
  • Manages account documentation, ensuring file completeness and quality.
  • Communicates with external producers and customers, serving as the primary contact for account matters and identifying upselling opportunities.

Requirements

  • Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience in an office environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people on a daily basis in person, via telephone and email.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting, insurance products, policy processing procedures, and documentation.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Strong capability to advise and coach others.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of other business-related software.

Experience Level

  • Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience

Education Level

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
