About the Role
We are hiring an Investment Associate or Senior Associate to focus on the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem. As a “full stack” investor, you will be responsible for engaging across the full investment lifecycle, from thesis development through portfolio support. This role reports to Mike Droesch and offers mentorship from senior partners, with an ideal start date in Q3 2026.
Responsibilities
- Develop investment roadmaps to guide firm strategy and form strong points of view on AI infrastructure, agentic automation, and vertical AI applications.
- Identify and build relationships with promising founders, teams, and startups by engaging in the ecosystem through events, dinners, and meetups.
- Lead financial analysis and diligence on customers, products, technology, teams, and markets.
- Form judgments and present analyses to drive investment decisions.
- Assist portfolio companies with introductions, strategy, hiring, and resources, and attend board meetings.
Requirements
- Be AI native, constantly experimenting with cutting-edge products, technologies, and models.
- Genuinely enjoy community engagement, attending events, and building real relationships with founders.
- Ideally 2–4+ years of relevant professional experience in an operating role at a startup, as a founder, scientist, technologist, investor, or technology investment banker.
- Ideally degree(s) or self-taught expertise in computer science, mathematics, machine learning, engineering, or a related field.
- Be an independent thinker who thrives in ambiguity and can make progress without step-by-step direction.
- Be great at connecting with founders.
- Be a self-driven, proactive doer.
- Possess a commercial mindset, enjoying the analysis of businesses and technology.
- Be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
