About the Role

Pinterest's Marketing, Communications and Creative organization is seeking a Director, Marketing Project and Program Management to establish the operational and technical infrastructure for its complex portfolio of marketing events, brand campaigns, and international activations. This role will lead both the PMO team, providing governance and portfolio visibility, and the PMO technology function, building and owning AI-powered tooling for modern project management.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the Marketing PMO Team
  • Mature the PMO into a full governance function
  • Govern the marketing events portfolio
  • Own governance, not delivery
  • Lead portfolio prioritization with business management
  • Build and develop the team
  • Define and build the AI-powered infrastructure for the PMO
  • Set the quality bar for technology outputs
  • Evolve the stack as the function matures

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in project management, with demonstrated experience inside a marketing, creative or communications organization
  • Proven ability to partner across creative, marketing, communications and brand disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience running a PMO as a true governance function
  • Experience designing a hybrid project management methodology, both agile and long-cycle, in a marketing or media environment
  • Experience governing a marketing events portfolio including large-scale flagship events, regional activations and international campaigns
  • Experience leading a project portfolio strategically, including modeling capacity, surfacing trade-offs to senior stakeholders and partnering with Finance
  • Hands-on experience building or deploying AI-powered workflows and agents in an operational setting
  • Experience monitoring vendor health, including SLA accountability and build/buy/extend recommendations
  • Experience building project management teams, including hiring for a governance model and establishing team culture
