About the Role
As a Store Shift Supervisor at Pet Supplies Plus, you will be passionate about people and their pets, providing exceptional, neighborly service. You will assist neighbors in choosing products, greet regular customers, demonstrate product usage, set an example for team members, and support team leaders by reinforcing operational procedures and performance expectations, all while engaging with customers and smiling.
Responsibilities
- Partner with store team leaders to learn and reinforce PSP standards and daily management routines.
- Provide leadership coverage and cover management functions up to four times a week when team leaders are offsite.
- Adhere to operational policies and procedures (cleanliness, animal care, safety and security).
- Learn and perform back office procedures, such as making signs, updating price changes, and imputing cashier records.
- Participate in store recruiting, onboarding, and team member development.
- Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to team leaders.
- Act as store team members when not acting as the manager-on-duty or learning operational tasks.
- Perform nail trims on furry friends.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of retail experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate all equipment, including a forklift.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must pass the drug screening (where allowed by law).
- Must be 18 years or older.
