About the Role
Epic Application team members possess in-depth knowledge of the Epic System software, serving as the primary liaison between the user community and the application. They maintain daily communications, review software, and demonstrate a deep understanding of business operations, collaborating with Epic, application teams, Group Operations, and end users to customize the application to organizational needs.
Responsibilities
- Configure, modify, test, implement, maintain, and support application software.
- Write and maintain system documentation.
- Perform end-user and application support functions, including problem-solving and resolving application function defects.
- Provide systems and application training.
- Run and assure all daily jobs are processed on current and legacy practice management systems.
- Maintain legacy systems.
- Design and document general functional requirements and detailed technical specifications for workflows.
- Design and document general functional requirements and detailed technical specifications for ambulatory workflows.
- Receive and document formal customer requests, including specifications, and evaluate them for completeness, working with customers to finalize requests as needed.
- Recommend changes to established guidelines, standards, methodologies, and conventions.
- Assist customers with quality assurance (testing) and documentation of testing results through standard procedures and processes.
- Translate user requirements into functional and design specifications, communicate with report consumers to gather specifications, review designs, present drafts, and validate results.
- Provide support to end users and participate in training, process improvement, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Provide new and ongoing application training.
- May be required to work beyond regularly scheduled hours.
- On-call responsibilities.
- Occasional travel required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May be exposed to hazardous drugs.
- Attend OSHA training at Orientation and annually thereafter.
Requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with the project team, key clinical stakeholders, including business services, nurses, and physicians.
- Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as Engineering or Computer Science or Associates degree with 2 years of additional work experience in a related field or High school with an additional 4 years of work experience in a related field is required.
- Networking and phone system experience a plus.
- Strong background in systems analysis, design, and problem-solving preferred.
- Experience with business or clinical computer systems in the areas of data/information warehousing, data, and reporting of such data required.
- Solid understanding of computer systems, interfaces, software, and IT functions.
- Certified / Credentialed in Epic Ambulatory within 6 months of hire or 90 days after last class.
- Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching.
- Basic dexterity skills.
- May be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Education Level
