About the Role

Supervises the YES/IL and Foster Care Alumni staff, manages referrals and intakes for programs under the Center for Youth Development, and maintains a caseload for foster care alumni as needed to ensure program support and appropriate service administration.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the services and administration of the FCA Services while maintaining a part time case load providing direct services to the FCA clients.
  • Oversee the intake of the Center For Youth Development.
  • Ensure that casework services fully comply with client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the staff's accurate, timely, comprehensive recording and filing of all components of the case record.
  • Ensure effective strength based services are being provided by the caseworkers to the youth serviced and therapeutic treatment goals are established, monitored and supported.
  • Work directly with CYD staff and other program areas to ensure continuity of therapeutic services and model correct treatment modalities.
  • Create a professional work environment through direct supervision of YES, IL and Foster Care Alumni Staff.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with the clients that are responsive to their needs and are in accordance with the established treatment plan.
  • Utilize Solution-Focused Trauma-Informed Care Approaches in work with clients and colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and be an enthusiastic team player.
  • Must have a high degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
  • Demonstrated competence and knowledge of clinical issues of emotionally disturbed children and their families.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, families, and community contacts.
  • Social Worker or Counselor with 5 years’ experience and demonstrated competence and knowledge of clinical issues of emotionally disturbed children and their families.
  • Preferred 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity in a related field.
  • Valid New York State driver's license and adequate auto insurance.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, families, staff and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Specialized training in trauma treatment preferred.
