About the Role
SP Industries Inc. is expanding its team and has an immediate opening for an Assembly position in our Gardiner, NY location. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 7am to 3:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble various segments of mechanical systems and top level assemblies, as well as lower level components and subassemblies.
- Interpret and use drawings, process procedures and other written documentation to complete the preparation and assembly of components.
- Fabricate simpler components using various hand tools, power tools, fixtures, jigs, drills, taps, saws and other tools.
- Form, prepare and align copper, brass and plastic piping, along with associated bracketing.
- Braze, solder and bond piping.
- Mount various assemblies and components.
- Perform metal treatment processes including polishing, painting and passivation per documented procedures.
- Meet documented specification requirements and quality standards in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Use various types of material handling equipment including hand trucks, carts, forklifts, scissor lifts, and cranes.
- Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner as required by the manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- A basic knowledge of manufacturing practices is required.
- Able to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.
- Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods.
- Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
- Report defects in any equipment or protective device.
- Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks.
- Attend all required health, safety and environmental training.
- Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
- Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.
- Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
