About the Role
As a Nursing Supervisor at Phoenix House, you will demonstrate proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process, contribute to nursing assessment and the development of a nursing care plan, and participate in the evaluation of nursing care. You will also oversee all LPN’s Med Tech/Assistants. Be part of something bigger — help us build a healthier, addiction-free future together.
Responsibilities
- Promotes and restores patients’ health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area.
- Hires, onboards, directs, mentors, develops, and schedules staff, including communicating job expectations and providing performance reviews.
- Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff to implement patient care.
- Provides physical and psychological support for patients.
- Meets nursing operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; and identifying system improvements.
- Provides input on annual budget, monitors expenditures, performs research on investments in equipment or additional staffing, and identifies variances in departmental costs.
- Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff and following up on work results.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promotes patients’ independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching and counseling patients, friends, and family to reinforce their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing degree; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in counseling and teaching a plus.
- NYS RN License
- NPI Number
- Medicaid / Medicare Number (preferred)
