About the Role
The IRA Coordinator of Residential Supports will collaborate with the Residential Manager to ensure program members comply with OPWDD standards, member satisfaction, and billing standards. Services must be delivered in line with professional standards, the Case Manager vendor manual, and PCCS policies.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for the rights, preferences, and needs of individuals, promoting independence, self-determination, and inclusion.
- Lead by example in demonstrating compassion, respect, and commitment.
- Ensure high-quality support and access to resources and opportunities.
- Provide supervision and leadership to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
- Mentor DSPs by leading by example and fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Set clear expectations, encourage professional growth, and empower DSPs.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals by responding promptly to concerns and maintaining a secure environment.
- Complete and submit all documentation accurately before the end of each shift.
- Report incidents to the clinical and medical team and keep management informed of individuals' progress.
- Attend all required staff meetings, training, and in-service sessions.
- Provide regular reviews and ongoing training to DSPs.
- Oversee the purchase and maintenance of household items and supplies.
- Manage van logs and receipts, ensuring timely submission and review.
- Assist individuals with making purchases and managing finances.
- Plan and schedule activities, meals, and events that reflect individual preferences.
- Ensure all required fire drills are completed and documented.
- Maintain compliance with physical plant requirements and occupancy rights.
- Report and document incidents in accordance with OPWDD guidelines.
- Assist individuals with medical appointments and ensure documentation and follow-up.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including daily billing and receipt submission.
- Manage timekeeping and employee health records.
- Plan and organize meaningful activities, appointments, and outings.
- Delegate tasks as needed and ensure transportation is arranged.
- Participate in agency and team meetings, working with natural support and advocates.
- Perform additional duties assigned to ensure smooth operation of the residential program.
- Provide direct, billable services tailored to each individual’s goals.
- Model person-centered practices in collaboration with staff.
- In-person participation may be required for meetings, training, events, and program-related activities.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18.
- Experience working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities required.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and required insurance.
- Use of a personal vehicle may be required for transporting individuals supported.
- Duties may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and computer use.
- Staff may also be required to provide direct support to people supported as needed.
