About the Role
Braun Intertec is seeking an Operations Supervisor for their Construction Materials Testing (CMT) operations in Austin, TX. This role involves leading a team, ensuring quality control, and supporting company safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of technicians and special inspectors responsible for completing field work, including supervision, mentorship, training, and hiring.
- Conduct performance reviews to stimulate and reward improved performance and prepare subordinates for advancement.
- Assist office leadership in developing and implementing CMT policies, best practices, and strategic direction.
- Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to plans and specifications.
- Prepare complete and accurate daily reports on observation activities.
- Support the company safety policy by communicating and implementing safe work practices and performing safety audits.
- Work closely with the Business Unit Manager to execute goals and business objectives.
- Coordinate with schedulers and other regional operations to share resources and manage workloads.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of assigned personnel through client interaction.
- Work closely with consulting staff representatives to prepare proposals.
- Perform quality control review of testing and inspection work, identifying and resolving quality issues.
- Coordinate and communicate project progress and issues with the consulting group, owning the technical success of field aspects.
- May make extended stays at job-sites as required.
- Manage and maintain field and laboratory equipment, including calibrations and supporting laboratory accreditation.
- Assist in the management of local fleet vehicles, including planning, maintenance, and stewardship.
- Collect and communicate business intelligence gathered during service performance to the consulting team.
Requirements

- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, at times with short notice.
- Excellent construction document reading and interpretation skills.
- Understanding and experience performing field testing and Special Inspections related to soils, concrete, and masonry in commercial and public projects.
- Computer aptitude and ability to adapt to company systems.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Understands safety matrices and expectations.
- Willingness and ability to obtain required ICC certifications as necessary and within a reasonable timeframe.
