About the Role

FreeWheel is seeking passionate Senior Software Engineers to design, build, and support its innovative video advertising platform. This role is crucial in developing a robust technology platform that enables the television industry to monetize premium content across all devices and sales channels, handling billions of daily requests and terabytes of data.

Responsibilities

  • Own the complete software development lifecycle for assigned features, including design, prototyping, implementation, testing, maintenance, and technical support.
  • Produce technical specifications and determine operational feasibility.
  • Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
  • Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Document and maintain software functionality.
  • Tailor and deploy engineering tools, processes, and metrics.
  • Support overall business operations and resolve technical issues.
  • Serve as an expert in the online advertising industry and drive technical innovation.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and operations teams to incorporate innovations.
  • Mentor junior software engineers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements and analyze integration needs.
  • Design new software and web applications, support ongoing development, and customize current applications.
  • Assist with software update processes and release roll-outs.
  • Participate in training for representatives and operations staff on internally developed software.
  • Research, write, and edit documentation, including technical requirements, software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and recommendations.
  • Monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products, reviewing relevant literature, patents, and current practices.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance on practices, procedures, and techniques.
  • Present and defend architectural, design, and technical choices.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in significant matters.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, including working nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with C/C++/Golang, DB design, and network programming.
  • Experience with large system software design and development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and technical innovation.
  • Strong passion for learning and practicing new techniques.
  • Knowledgeable about SDLC, Agile, and Software Engineering Methodology.
  • Team working skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to work under pressure.
  • Strong ability and persistence in technical support.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and accept additional working time for production issue handling.
