About the Role
NewsNation is seeking a creative, experienced, and pro-active part-time Stagehand to join their team in New York. This role involves creating, establishing, and maintaining all stage and lighting needs for NewsNation.
Responsibilities
- Operate entertainment lighting consoles/switchboards, spotlights, and other lighting equipment.
- Call up cues for daily shows and special projects.
- Install and focus lighting to achieve desired looks.
- Move, install, place, handle, and maintain all sets, scenery, and props.
- Function as scenic carpenters.
- Perform rigging functions (specialists).
- Perform other duties as assigned by network leadership.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in a major market television station.
- Meet the required standards for stagehand as designated by The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.
- Applicants must be a member in good standing of I.A.T.S.E.
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of television lighting.
- Proficiency with the GrandMA3 lighting console.
- Excellent communication skills.
