About the Role

As the Co-Manager, you will support the General Manager in overseeing store profitability. You will focus on delivering friendly service, food execution, cleanliness, talent leadership, and driving success to make people's lives simpler and more enjoyable.

Responsibilities

  • Educate team members on the importance of excellent guest service and provide tools and techniques to succeed.
  • Establish a warm and welcoming environment for all guests, team members, and vendors.
  • Provide clear, respectful guidance to empower managers on all shifts, leading by example through accountability, collaboration, and ownership.
  • Ensure guest transaction expectations, including managing line lengths, are clearly understood and consistently met through training and coaching.
  • Ensure all store team members clearly understand and consistently follow food service safety and standards, providing additional training and coaching as needed.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to verify compliance with food service safety and standards.
  • Educate the team on the importance of promoting items, train them on effective techniques, and ensure clear communication of current and upcoming promotions.
  • Ensure teams are educated on all safety policies and regulations, and know where to access necessary documentation.
  • Execute all steps of the inventory process accurately, understanding its critical impact on RaceTrac.
  • Manage inventory control processes by analyzing stock, monitoring inventory levels and reports, and ensuring accurate ordering.
  • Implement strategies to minimize waste and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Effectively communicate inventory updates to the General Manager, vendors, and team members.
  • Monitor cash controls daily and support employee training on operational processes, emphasizing their impact on financial performance.
  • Facilitate communication across all shifts, including clarifying shift expectations and relaying information from RaceTrac.
  • Effectively train, coach, and mentor employees at all levels.
  • Ensure store training is properly executed by Shift Managers and evaluate training effectiveness, providing coaching as needed.
  • Monitor staffing levels and schedule execution, provide feedback to the General Manager, and create schedules.
  • Provide specific feedback on team performance to the General Manager and support performance management.
  • Utilize a variety of coaching techniques to help associates identify development opportunities and support their growth aspirations.
  • Promote teamwork within the store by fostering open and inclusive communication, leading by example, and providing support during busy times or when guest concerns arise.
  • Adjust communication style to suit the audience, ensuring messages are delivered effectively.
  • Actively listen to understand others’ perspectives and ask clarifying questions when needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED in progress or completed.
  • 3-5 years of prior food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience.
  • 1+ years management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environment preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills in analyzing profit and loss statements and overall financial performance of the store.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven knowledge of Labor Laws and staffing best practices.
  • Takes initiative.
  • Can lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly bend, stand, and reach while on the job.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain food handler permit, based on local or state requirements.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain alcohol server permit, based on local or state requirements.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience Level

  • 3-5 years of prior food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience
  • 1+ years management experience

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED
