About the Role
Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925. CGL prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services including uniformed guard, mobile response and support, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Responsibilities
- Conduct property patrols of client locations in accordance with site instructions.
- Screen people entering CFRC.
- Enforce the Trespass to Property Act when required.
- Liaise with Police, Fire, and EMS during incidents.
- Complete patrol and incident reports using reporting software and paper reports.
- Maintain professionalism at all times during all interactions.
- Undertake all assigned training in a timely fashion.
- Report concerns or complaints received to Supervisor or Manager.
- Adjust schedule as required to accommodate the needs of the patrol team.
- Perform 'stand downs' at client locations to ensure continuity of guard service.
- Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements
- Must hold a Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Must be able to obtain a Level I (Reliability) Clearance (resident in Canada 5 years or longer, clean record, clean credit history).
- Must be able to pass the CGL Level III Use of Force certification.
- Ability to stand/sit for a longer period of time.
- Strong customer service/administrative skills.
- Highly reliable.
- Work well under pressure.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multitask.
- Professionalism in dress, deportment, and performance.
