About the Role
We are looking for a Registered Plans Administrator to join our Operations team for a 6-month term. Reporting to the Supervisor, Registered Plans, the incumbent is responsible for processing registered plan requests within the IIROC platforms.
Responsibilities
- Administer registered plans and process requests such as de-registrations, de-materializations, and special withdrawals.
- Ensure registrations, contributions, and withdrawals comply with regulatory deadlines for RESPs, RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFs, FHSA, etc.
- Review, process, and settle all registered plan requests within Service Level Agreement timelines and escalate issues requiring management review and action.
- Complete IIROC registered plan audits within internal and regulatory deadlines.
- Collaborate with teams responsible for taxation, estates, transfers, new accounts, and client account management for necessary registered plan updates.
- Actively participate in Registered Plan Committee meetings to ensure fiduciary and regulatory changes are applied to procedures and manuals, which must be kept up-to-date.
- Stay informed about CRA, Revenu Québec, Employment and Social Development Canada, and trustee regulatory changes by consulting relevant legislation, press releases, and industry newsletters.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the financial services sector, preferably in registered plans or operations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail.
- Proactive problem-solving aptitude and strong analytical skills.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on quality assurance.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
