About the Role
AMANI is introducing French language services and is seeking a full-time, permanent Social Worker 2 (Bilingual) to join the team. This position will report to the senior manager of Child, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) and work collaboratively with other clinical services within the CYEAP and across CAMH. The incumbent will work largely with Francophone black youth clients (and clients’ families as appropriate), who are dealing with co-morbid addiction and mental illness and also provide consultation to other professionals working with this population. The incumbent will deliver care within a model that recognizes the lived experience of black youth who have faced oppression and racism as it relates to many aspects of their lives inclusive of the social determinants of health – housing, employment and education. This includes the intersecting experiences of Black Francophone, immigrant, and refugee youth.
Responsibilities
- Deliver care within a model that recognizes the lived experience of black youth who have faced oppression and racism.
- Provide consultation to other professionals working with this population.
- Assessment, case management, individual and group therapy in both English and French as required.
- Support program development and clinical evaluation.
- Be an active participant in continuous quality improvement and research activities.
- Provide supervision to Masters of Social Work students.
- Collaborate with faculties of social work on special projects related to the development of the social work field.
- Contribute to the development of best practices unique to the social work field.
- Teach other professionals.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders seeking support and shared care for complex clients.
- Support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements.
- Some evening hours are required.
- Work in the community to improve access for Francophone clients.
- Support participatory program development approaches, including engaging community members as partners in service design and improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
