About the Role

The Facility Manager II is responsible for owning and driving all activity within their assigned building(s), ensuring facilities are operated safely, cost-effectively, and efficiently according to the Statement of Work and client contract. This role serves as the primary BGIS representative for day-to-day client and tenant interactions, managing moderate to large portfolios and/or facilities of moderate to high complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operations, maintenance, and annual facility programs for a portfolio of facilities.
  • Ensure facility uptime objectives and safe, reliable operations.
  • Create and implement annual facility management plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and oversee the implementation of facility-related programs.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair activities, ensuring timely, safe, and quality completion.
  • Maintain documentation for facility inspections, equipment, and projects.
  • Evaluate capital assets and recommend maintenance, repair, replacement, and budget inclusion.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies through best practices and sustainable initiatives.
  • Optimize assigned portfolios and create client value.
  • Meet client obligations and resolve issues with open communication.
  • Monitor service delivery performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions.
  • Escalate service requests and issues to senior management as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislated, corporate, and industry requirements (EHS, building standards).
  • Execute emergency preparedness, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Collaborate with EHS teams to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Administer vendor safety accreditation, training, and qualifications.
  • Organize and facilitate health and safety meetings with vendors.
  • Monitor and ensure the safe delivery of all work within assigned portfolios.
  • Develop and maintain effective client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
  • Act as the escalation point for facility-related issues.
  • Meet portfolio budgets and develop/manage budget for portfolio and project expenses.
  • Liaise with Finance for budget management and profitability.
  • Review and approve expenditures.
  • Develop and execute project plans, costs, and budgets for assigned portfolios.
  • Oversee project delivery and ensure minimal disruption.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain related documentation.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to source and qualify vendors.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies.
  • Manage employee-oriented activities including engagement, development, performance, hiring, and retention.

Requirements

  • College diploma or equivalent training (e.g., RPA, CET).
  • 3-5 years or more of facility management work experience.
  • Solid facility operations and maintenance management abilities.
  • Solid proficiency with facility equipment and building systems.
  • Solid service delivery management abilities.
  • Solid budget management abilities.
  • Developed communication, influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Solid client relationship management abilities.
