About the Role
AECOM is seeking a General Superintendent to oversee projects in an active hospital in Brooklyn, NY. This role involves managing building construction, reconstruction, renovation, MEP upgrades, and sitework, ensuring high quality and efficient project delivery throughout their lifecycles.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of various scope projects in an active hospital.
- Manage building construction, reconstruction, and renovation.
- Oversee MEP upgrades and sitework.
- Interact with clients, design consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Manage projects through their lifecycles.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and concurrent construction contracts.
- Oversee contract closeout.
- Provide oversight and direction to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Serve as a liaison for design management, contractors, commissioning, and end-users.
- Assist in the sequencing and coordination of projects with hospital facility staff.
- Utilize platforms and software for client review and approval pathways.
- Review plans and documents, providing feedback.
- Research best practices to progress project delivery.
- Liaise with consultants, engineers, planners, architects, landscape architects, contractors, and representatives of Health + Hospitals, various City departments, civic, community, and governmental organizations.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Experience with general contractor contracts in NY City.
- Projects Experience in active healthcare Facilities.
- Superintendent or Construction Manager with 8-10 years’ experience managing new construction, reconstruction, and renovation of various building types and MEP upgrades.
- Coordination with several on-going concurrent projects within same construction footprint.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and project tracking systems such as Procore or Primavera P6.
- NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) Construction Superintendent License preferred.
- SST Supervisor Certification preferred.
- NY Registration as a Professional Engineer, or Registered Architect, considered highly advantageous.
