Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the Interface Management Plan throughout the project life cycle.
- Implement project-specific Interface Management processes, with accountability for Interface Milestone Definition Documents (MDDs) and the Delivery Interface Register (DIR).
- Define, document, and manage interface requirements between different Programmes (e.g., Civils, Nuclear Island, Conventional Island) and other stakeholders.
- Monitor progress related to Interface Management.
- Ensure schedule requirements are maintained and identify/initiate change requests arising from interface requirements.
- Manage and close interface issues.
- Act as an integral link within the Interface Management Plan, monitoring and coordinating interfaces.
- Support SZC Programmes and SZC Project Management Office (PMO) to remain aligned.
- Produce and maintain standardized documents and provide regular assurance reporting to Programme management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the Risk Management Team for alignment on interface risks.
- Ensure a collaborative approach is maintained across teams.
- Facilitate effective planning and efficient delivery of interface management.
- Support Delivery Project Managers (PMs) with interface agreements that deliver 'best for project' outcomes while adhering to nuclear safety culture and regulatory frameworks.
Requirements
- Technical related degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years+ experience managing interface issues or in a related technical role on a large infrastructure/engineering project.
- On-site experience with good knowledge of construction activities, approaches, standards, and expectations (preferably within Nuclear projects).
- Understanding of the challenges faced in interface management on large infrastructure/engineering projects.
- Good project management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills within complex infrastructure projects.
- Good presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to build, maintain, and manage key stakeholder relationships.
- General proficiency with common software tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.).
- Ability to use innovative thinking to overcome challenges and implement solutions.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical and commercial issues.
- General professional qualities such as accuracy, attention to detail, tenacity, result-oriented, ability to work well within a team, good organizational skills, and ability to work independently and be proactive.
- Adaptability and flexibility in covering a range of roles within the Interface Management team.
- Knowledge of risk management processes and good understanding of impact on key project milestones/drivers.
- Exceptional organizational and communication/interpersonal skills.
- Discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Evidence of the right to work in the UK.
