About the Role
We are hiring our first Engineering Manager to lead a portfolio of product engineering teams, working towards accelerating medication access for patients. You will help define engineering management at Latent, mentor Leads, hire and develop engineers, and align teams with company priorities. You will also partner with Product and business leaders on strategy, prioritization, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple product engineering teams across product areas
- Coach Leads on technical direction, execution, communication, and team development
- Hire engineers and help each person improve through clear expectations and regular feedback
- Work with Product and business leaders to set directions and team priorities
- Define technical strategies and roadmaps
- Define and improve engineering management practices as the organization grows
Requirements
- Experience managing multiple engineering teams, leading through experienced technical leads or other managers
- Experience building teams and helping individuals grow their careers and impact
- Experience making difficult performance and organizational decisions with care and clarity
- Experience partnering closely with Product and with stakeholders outside engineering to deliver business outcomes
- Experience working in a domain with complex requirements, multiple stakeholders, or significant operational constraints
- Prior experience as a staff-level (or comparably senior) engineer, with the ability to engage deeply on architecture and tradeoffs
- Cogent communication skills
- Ability to add structure without adding process for its own sake
- Comfortable making decisions through ambiguity
