About the Role

Allied Universal® is hiring a Government Business Development Manager to develop new business relationships and drive revenue growth within state, local, and federal government agencies. This role involves marketing comprehensive security solutions through multi-year service contracts to government decision makers, contributing to community security and creating job opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the entire sales process, including prospecting, lead management, proposal development, contract and pricing negotiations, RFP responses, customized presentations, and post-close implementation.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans targeting government agencies within a designated territory to achieve growth objectives and increase market share.
  • Build and maintain consultative relationships with government clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to identify business opportunities.
  • Assess and report on sales cycle activity, pipeline development, and sales goal tracking using the CRM tool and communicating with senior management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Finance, Marketing, and operational leadership, to understand client needs and position solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of outside sales experience, preferably within the government vertical.
  • Associate’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or related field with a minimum of seven (7) years of outside sales experience, preferably within the government vertical.
  • High School diploma with at least fifteen (15) years of outside sales experience, including at least five (5) years within the government vertical.
  • Current driver’s license if driving a company-owned vehicle.
  • Previous consultative sales experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of outside sales experience.
  • Ability to collaborate with operations partners and build relationships.
  • Skillful in consultative selling techniques with a record in achieving sales excellence.
  • Skilled at brand development using professional networks, local and national associations, and social media tools.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, oral and written.
  • Adept in creating and delivering compelling presentations.
  • Proficient in web-based applications (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively plan cold calling, client meetings, reporting, and goal achievement.
  • Ability to travel throughout all areas of the territory, including some overnight travel.
