About the Role
Supports Express Care by providing quality, individualized care according to established standards.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes accepted processes of care in interactions with all patients, documenting symptoms, vital signs, and responses to interventions, and reporting progress to providers.
- Collects assessment data and reports to provider or RN, per practice protocol.
- Demonstrates skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to served populations.
- Adheres to practice standards and procedures in medication administration and patient care activities.
- Documents care provided using Practice Group standards, including filing lab results and reporting untoward results to Physician/Practitioner.
- Provides patient and family education based on assessed learning needs.
- Assists Physician/Practitioner with procedures and performs simple lab tests.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and well-inventoried patient care environment.
- Completes appropriate charging documentation, per practice protocol.
- Manages prescription refills via the prescription line, per hospital protocol.
- Administers B12 injections, PPD tests, and immunizations as directed by a provider (for MAs).
- Triages patient phone calls, assessing symptoms, analyzing urgency, advising treatments, or referring for immediate care.
- Conducts Nurse-Only visits as requested by a physician (for RNs/LPNs).
- Administers medications and injections (RNs/LPNs only, with MA exception for specific injections).
Requirements
- MAs / CMAs/RMAs - Certification/registration or successful completion of Clinical and/or Pharmacology coursework is required.
- Graduate of an accredited school is required.
- 0-1 year clinical experience.
- Office Practice experience preferred.
