About the Role
As a Procurement Student on the Solar District team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to project design and procurement processes, gain practical experience, and grow personally and professionally in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with coordinating and managing the project design and procurement process, including taking meeting minutes and following up on open items.
- Assist with reviewing RFP documentation, drawings/diagrams, and specifications for key project requirements.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between project stakeholders using PM4+ for RFIs and submittals.
- Assist projects with material take-offs, quantity optimization, pricing compilation, and recaps.
- Streamline project processes by developing procurement operating practices and converting Excel tools into standard Solar templates.
- Support project success by developing and maintaining PM4+ procurement dashboards.
- Draft purchase orders and coordinate with estimators and schedulers to ensure compliance with project budgets and delivery dates.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong desire to work in a solar preconstruction function.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Proficient in various computer software programs, including AutoCad, word processing, and spreadsheet applications (Excel).
