About the Role

The Machining Manufacturing Manager will lead day-to-day shop operations, overseeing CNC and manual machining, managing schedules, ensuring safety and quality, and mentoring machinists. This role involves implementing efficiency improvements, liaising with various departments, and reporting to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily/weekly production schedules
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and planning to hit delivery targets
  • Supervise and mentor machinist personnel
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage corrective actions
  • Hire, onboard, and train staff
  • Supervise machining shift leads, CNC programmers, machinists, and operators
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for process improvements and implementation
  • Provide strategic data and guidance to the machining department aimed at attaining KPIs
  • Work with senior management to develop KPIs for the department
  • Coordinate maintenance and ensure equipment uptime
  • Oversee tooling and materials purchasing, and tool crib controls
  • Implement lean initiatives to optimize workflow
  • Track KPIs (efficiency, scrap, downtime) and share metrics with management
  • Support RFQs, labor estimates, and part quoting
  • Address technical queries and update clients on progress
  • Review all procedures related to your job per “HR LG 01 Training Matrix”
  • Complete all training required by Job Description in “HR LG 01 Training Matrix” within the stated time
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Commitment to a safety culture where safety is the first consideration before starting any task
  • Proficient in CNC mill and lathe operations
  • Proficient with selection and use of inspection equipment and techniques
  • Proficient with interpretation of drawings and specifications
  • Understand basics of office computer software
  • Familiar with use of ERP System(s)
  • Must be a team player and willing to complete professional development goals
  • Exposure to manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, etc.)
  • Work in an environment with ambient temperatures, typical plant lighting, and manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to sit or stand as needed
  • Ability to walk primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day
  • Ability to reach above shoulder height, below the waist, or lift as required to reach documents or store materials
  • Ability to use proper lifting techniques
  • Ability and comfortability to work in small confined spaces while following proper safety protocol
  • Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Knowledgeable of standard safety policies and procedures and adhere to them
  • Support the goals and objectives of the organization
  • Recognize the Company’s need to achieve its business objectives
  • Comply with company hazardous waste disposal procedures
  • Eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government to conform to U.S. export control regulations
