About the Role

WPIX 11 has an immediate opening for a full-time Writer for PIX11 news broadcasts.

Responsibilities

• Write stories for various television newscasts.
• Desk-top edit video for stories.
• Coordinate live shots from reporters and photographers under deadline pressure.
• Contribute creative ideas for broadcasts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a writer or producer of television news broadcasts.
• Demonstrate facility with language and a writing style that is off-the-cuff, fun, authoritative, and credible.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to work well with others.

Skills

• Strong writing skills
• Strong video skills
• Strong news judgment skills
• Strong internet skills
• Knowledge of ENPS systems is ideal.
