About the Role

Array Marketing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spray Painter to join their product manufacturing team. This role involves executing painting jobs from start to finish, including surface preparation, coating mixing, spray application, and quality inspection. The Spray Painter will ensure high-quality finishes that meet strict standards for appearance, durability, and color consistency, working with industrial spray equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces and materials by cleaning, sanding, and masking components.
  • Mix paints and coatings to achieve accurate color matches and consistent finishes.
  • Apply paint and coatings using spray equipment to achieve even coverage, correct thickness, and high-quality finishes.
  • Adjust spray settings and techniques based on material type and product requirements.
  • Identify and correct surface or finish defects such as runs, uneven coverage, or contamination.
  • Inspect completed work for defects and ensure all painted products meet internal quality standards.
  • Support collaboration with the quality and production teams to ensure consistency and alignment with specifications.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of spray guns, booths, and related equipment.
  • Promptly report equipment issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Follow all WHMIS requirements and Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safe handling of paints, coatings, and hazardous materials at all times.

Requirements

  • Several years of hands-on experience in spray painting, ideally in a manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or production environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Additional training or certification in spray painting or coatings is an asset.
  • Experience in color matching is preferred.
  • Confident using spray guns, compressors, mixing systems, sanding tools, and masking materials.
  • Understanding of surface preparation techniques and their impact on finish quality, adhesion, and durability.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, visual standards, and specifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot finish issues and adjust technique, equipment settings, or material application to correct defects.
  • Ability to manage multiple work orders, adjust to shifting priorities, and maintain focus in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Openness to feedback and coaching.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with teammates, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak production periods.
