About the Role

The Receptionist, Medical Oncology and Hematology plays a key role in the division, acting as a resource for patients, support staff, and providers to ensure the smooth operation of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage physician schedules with the hospital locating system
  • Manage the main phone line for the division and triage calls
  • Assist with mail and fax sorting
  • Act as a timekeeper for support staff for payroll purposes
  • Monitor and order office supplies and equipment

Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary School or recognized equivalent
  • One (1) year related support experience
  • Experience working with EPIC EMR is preferred
  • Previous on-the-job computer/word-processing in a Microsoft Office environment is preferred
  • Experience working in a health care environment is an asset
  • Fluency in a second language is considered an asset (e.g., French)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to operate effectively in an interdisciplinary team
  • Current UHN employees must have successfully completed their probationary period, have a good employee record along with satisfactory attendance in accordance with UHN's attendance management program, to be eligible for consideration.
