About the Role
AECOM is seeking a Senior Program Manager (Water/Wastewater) to lead the development and delivery of very large Water/Wastewater programs. This role involves managing integrated, technically complex, multi-year programs with significant capital value, multiple stakeholders, and high public visibility, including treatment facilities, conveyance tunnels, and pump stations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Water industry and public agencies in New York and New Jersey, demonstrating a flexible and effective approach to managing all aspects of design, procurement, and delivery of large capital programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and deliver large capital program(s) from planning through design, construction, and completion.
- Identify and assess major program risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Develop optimal approaches for program technologies, budgets, schedules, and procurement.
- Act as the primary liaison between AECOM, the Client, and principal Stakeholders.
- Support and participate in meetings, including public meetings.
- Implement effective technical and management leadership and strategic direction for successful program delivery.
- Provide overall oversight, metrics, and reporting on program scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to subordinate managers, staff, and sub-consultants.
- Drive timely decision-making to support program objectives and goals.
- Advocate for ethical and safe working practices and implement safety and quality oversight.
- Be accountable for the overall financial success and delivery of the program(s).
- Collaborate with AECOM’s global water resources planning and engineering resources and the digital AECOM team.
- Coordinate with AECOM’s multidisciplinary planning, engineering, and management practices.
- Actively implement Client, company, and project policies.
Requirements
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
- Extensive experience in the planning, design, and delivery of water/wastewater infrastructure projects, including conveyance, storage, and tunnel projects.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- Ability to obtain a New York or New Jersey Professional Engineer’s License within 6 months of hire date.
- Demonstrated knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection, and distribution systems.
- Proven client/consultant relations experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead business development activities, pursue new clients/projects, and manage project deliveries.
- Proven leader with an interest in developing and mentoring team members.
- This position does not offer sponsorship.
- Candidates who are currently a registered Professional Engineer in the State of New York and New Jersey are highly preferred.
