About the Role

As a Structural Engineer, you will develop projects with a range of engineering solutions from initial concept through detailed design and construction support. This diverse role involves contributing insight to enable effective project delivery and secure new work within an existing engineering team. You will join a global team of structural engineers and maritime specialists supporting a wide range of maritime-related infrastructure development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake design and planning for the structural design of maritime/waterfront projects including container and offshore wind terminals, bulk facilities, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal resiliency and beach replacement and coastal protection.
  • Undertake planning and design for the structural design of new buildings and rehabilitation of existing buildings.
  • Independently prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Assist in the oversight of deliverables prepared by junior structural engineers.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations and drawings.
  • Participate in the development of technical scope and design fee estimates in response to RFPs.
  • Coordinate with other in-house and subconsultant engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed.
  • Occasionally provide site visits depending on project requirements.
  • Work alongside a technical lead and project manager to ensure technical and business-related project success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field plus four (4) plus years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.

  • Master of Science (with Structural Engineering concentration)
