About the Role

The Goldman Sachs Family Office (GSFO) is seeking a Vice President and Trust Relationship Manager to drive the strategic expansion of our premier fiduciary services platform. In this senior advisory role, you will serve as a key intellectual partner to our Private Wealth Advisors, serving as a trusted expert to educate sophisticated clients on our unparalleled capabilities and deliver cutting-edge fiduciary services. This high-visibility position offers a unique blend of complex technical advisory, relationship stewardship, liaising with preferred third-party trust companies, and entrepreneurial leadership, allowing you to shape the evolution of our global practice.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert in trust administration, with a focused expertise in discretionary, directed, and delegated trust arrangements.
  • Demonstrate advanced expertise in interpreting trust agreements and related legal documentation, collaborating seamlessly with senior leadership, internal experts, and external parties to ensure optimal client outcomes and compliance with fiduciary standards and firm policies.
  • Oversee and manage strategic relationships between Goldman Sachs and preferred third‑party trust companies, ensuring seamless integration and a consistent, best‑in‑class client experience.
  • Provide high‑level oversight as the dedicated liaison, ensuring a consistently exceptional and tailored client experience.
  • Serve as the regional fiduciary business development lead, partnering closely with Private Wealth Advisors to advance new prospect opportunities for discretionary and directed trust services, while maintaining close collaboration with GS Trust Company professionals.
  • Proactively analyze and anticipate client needs, strategically identifying opportunities to introduce and integrate additional bespoke GS Family Office and/or GS Trust Company services that enhance their overall wealth strategy and long-term financial well-being.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience working with clients in structuring multi-generational wealth and estate planning strategies
  • Prior experience at a trust company in a legal, business development, administration, or operational role is preferred
  • Experience in interfacing with Trustees, Attorneys, Accountants, and other advisors and professional bodies in respect to private client’s wealth planning
  • Deep interest in the financial markets and good investment sense/commercial instinct
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Resourceful, self-starter, attentive to detail and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive experience of presenting to internal and external audiences
  • Ability to build consensus and facilitate decision-making among families
