  • Develop scalable standards, templates, and guidelines for various applications.
  • Act as the steward of brand consistency across all channels.
  • Visualize and connect marketing design, social media visuals, and content marketing.
  • Shape the look of social media, new content properties, and campaign creative.
  • Develop always-on creative content to engage audiences between events.
  • Oversee the creation of site signage, wayfinding assets, entrance moments, stages, lounges, and sponsor recognition builds.
  • Manage the production of graphic files for large-scale applications, considering substrates, color, and typography.
  • Execute creative deliverables according to lead times and deadlines.
  • Partner with operations teams on builds, ensuring brand consistency and timely completion.

  • Apply a high creative standard to sponsor recognition, branded activations, and co-branded partner moments.
  • Provide creative support for the sponsorship sales team.
  • Ensure partner integrations feel native to the Shoptalk brand.
  • Work within creative and production budgets, building scopes and production calendars.
  • Balance creative ambition with production feasibility and timelines.
  • Lead, hire, grow, and develop the in-house design team and external partners.
  • Provide clear briefs and actionable feedback to the team and freelancers.
  • Build and direct the external network of freelancers, studios, and specialists.
  • Measure team success by both individual growth and the quality of the work.

Requirements

  • Prior management of a creative team and freelancers.
  • Experience collaborating with general contractors, agencies, and partners.
  • Experience developing branding and design systems for event companies or live events.
  • A collaborative creative vision for an events brand and theme that spans online and offline, and the full event lifecycle.
  • Experience with marketing thematics and visuals, including always-on creative for audience engagement.
  • Hands-on experience designing and directing physical experience elements of live events, including signage, wayfinding, stages, and activations.
  • Background in developing environmental graphics and signage, with knowledge of substrates, file preparation, color at scale, wayfinding, fabrication, and installation.
  • A design-led portfolio showcasing concepts carried across channels and built at environmental scale as a connected system.
  • Experience directing freelancers and partners to achieve a high standard of work.
  • Ability to work from the Midtown Manhattan office three days per week (Tuesday to Thursday).
