About the Role

The Public Health Program is seeking Instructional Support Specialists (ISS) to assist with upper-division courses in the public health core curriculum. Successful candidates will support undergraduate public health majors in core disciplines and possess subject matter expertise, theoretical understanding, and quantitative skills to aid students and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Assist public health faculty with preparation and grading of homework, quizzes, exams, and papers.
• Lead activities, demonstrations, discussions, and pre-exam review sessions.
• Hold regularly assigned walk-in office hours and tutor students on assigned subject matter.
• Provide course administrative assistance, including grade reporting, website maintenance, and exam proctoring.
• Assist with supporting students with university-approved accommodations.
• Engage in professional development, training, and preparation for future semesters post-class conclusion.

Requirements

• Part-time positions require enrollment in good standing in an accredited graduate school of public health.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
• A criminal history background check will be required for finalists.
• If hired, completion of the federal Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 form is required.
• Presentation of acceptable and original documents to prove identity and work authorization is required by the third day of employment.
• Compliance with Title IX and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act may be required.
