About the Role
The Pierre Hotel, a luxury destination, seeks a part-time host or hostess for the Magic Table events. This role requires superior guest service in a fast-paced, luxury environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for guests arriving or calling the restaurant.
- Maintain an efficient dining room operation for quality, professionalism, and sociability.
- Greet guests promptly, courteously, and graciously with eye contact, a smile, and excellent engagement.
- Manage all aspects of guest arrival, including coat check, seating, and ensuring guest comfort.
- Manage the restaurant reservations system.
- Note guest preferences and update guest history.
- Ensure guests have an enjoyable and memorable dining experience.
- Follow restaurant-specific standard operating procedures.
- Interact professionally with servers, bartenders, and managers.
- Handle and print menus, explaining menu items as needed.
- Assist with front and back of house operations related to the reception desk.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hotel restaurant or free-standing restaurant.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Standards.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code standards.
- Keen interest in New York’s restaurant and dining scene.
- Must be confident, poised, and gracious at all times.
- Must be guest-focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
