About the Role
Serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication to visitors and staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public ferry transportation location.
- Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of ferry terminals, boarding areas, waiting areas, access points, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and observe pedestrian and vehicle activity, reporting unusual conditions, prohibited items, hazards, and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, communicating relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED, as required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
