About the Role

As an unarmed Security Officer supporting a government ferry location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. You will contribute to a welcoming, secure environment for visitors and staff while upholding Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at ferry terminals and waterfront facilities.
Respond to incidents, passenger concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, ferry access points, waiting areas, exterior perimeters, and nearby waterfront locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and observe pedestrian and vehicle activity, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation while maintaining professional communication with site personnel and the public.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least one year of security-related experience.
Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
