About the Role

RBC Capital Markets is seeking an experienced Associate to join the Change the Bank (CTB) group within Transaction Services. This role will focus on initiatives within the Clearing, Settlement, & Middle Office area of the Capital Markets broker dealer pillars, driving improvements through business or process enhancements, technology upgrades, risk reduction, and cost savings.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in projects and provide business analysis expertise for successful execution.
  • Research, formulate, propose, and implement strategic solutions, focusing on process improvement and reengineering.
  • Ensure effective analysis execution to deliver productivity improvements and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Liaise with Operations, Technology, Business, and other key teams to define and review requirements.
  • Provide Capital Markets Operations subject matter expertise.
  • Document UAT strategies and create test cases as needed.
  • Work efficiently to deliver high-quality work products and quick-to-market solutions.
  • Support system testing and the creation of user documentation.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships throughout the RBC organization.
  • Continuously seek to improve personal capacity, skills, and expertise.
  • Provide concise and effective updates to CTB Leadership and the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst within the capital markets domain.
  • Proven business analysis experience with medium to larger Agile projects integrated with downstream and upstream applications and processes.
  • Strong deliverable experience, including preparation and delivery of PMP/SDLC artifacts.
  • Good working knowledge of Capital Markets operational functions and processes.
  • Detailed understanding of Capital Markets trading fundamentals and the transaction lifecycle.
  • Detailed understanding of RBC Capital Markets organizational structure.
  • Familiarity with regional differences in operational processing within RBC Capital Markets.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and suggest solutions.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Capable of building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking abilities with a proactive approach to inquiry.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
