About the Role
The New York Foundling is seeking a Mental Health Advisor to design and facilitate mental health workshops, conduct case reviews, and provide expertise to enhance program development and community engagement efforts. This role supports individuals and families in achieving stability, strength, and independence through a whole-person, whole-family approach.
Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and facilitate quarterly mental health workshops.
- Conduct comprehensive case reviews to ensure mental health services are offered to the Family & Youth Peer Support (FYPS) Alliance.
- Review family and youth cases with FYPS teams to evaluate the quality, appropriateness, and timeliness of mental health services.
- Gather and assess emerging mental health trends to inform responsive programming and service delivery strategies.
- Design and refine mental health trainings and workshops using data, evidence-based, and field-informed insights.
- Plan and deliver quarterly mental health workshops in the community, schools, and non-NYF sites.
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to integrate a mental health lens across programs.
- Offer guidance to teams, partners, and community members on mental health concerns, complex cases, and service navigation.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case reviews, findings, and recommendations.
- Contribute to organizational priorities and special projects by incorporating mental health expertise.
- Participate in regular individual coaching and mentoring sessions.
- Engage in team-based group coaching to assess trends, strengthen collaboration, and inform coordinated approaches to service delivery.
Requirements
- 1 year of accumulated relevant experiences navigating systems, including child welfare, mental health, and/or substance abuse.
- Experience in mental health services, preferably within child welfare, family services, or community-based settings.
- Experience with lived experience navigating the mental health system and/or family-serving systems.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practices.
- Experience conducting case reviews, audits, or program evaluation to ensure quality of care.
- Ability to design and facilitate training or workshops for diverse audiences, including community stakeholders.
- Experience with public speaking.
- Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to maintain accurate, timely, and compliant records and reports.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Salary/Compensations
- $67,632.38 /year + $3,500 - Bilingual Additive (as applicable) + $1,000 – Provisional Licensure Additive (as applicable) + $4,000 – Full Licensure Additive (as applicable)
